Workshops & Photo Tours

Alex conducts a number Photo Workshops and Photo Tours during the year, both in Thailand and overseas. Diving with like-minded people is always more productive than being on a trip where photographers are in the minority, and are therefore either left behind or rushed from the subject to keep up. Smiling Seahorse, Phuket to Khao Lak, Thailand - 23rd to 29th Jan 2024

The first of two back-to-back trips aboard the Smiling Seahorse. This is the 3rd annual Blackwater Expedition where we dive the stunning sites of the Andaman Sea during the daytime, and then head out to deeper water at night for the blackwater dive. The second of two back-to-back trips aboard the Smiling Seahorse. This is the 4th annual Photo Clinic where we dive spend a few days on Richelieu Rock to maximise the amazing photographical potential of Thailands premium dive site. We will also visit Koh Bon & Tachai for the chance of Pelagics and Surin and Khao Lak for macro. We will also conduct at least one blackwater dive deeper water. Crystal Blue Resort, Anilao, Philippines - 8th to 17th April 2024
We're heading back to Crystal Blue Resort for another Blackwater Photography Workshop. Double-dip blackwater dives every night and critters in the day. Daily photo critique sessions and natural history presentation from Mike Bartick, you'll have two Photo Pros on hand to ensure you level-up your macro and blackwater shooting.
NAD Lembeh Resort, Lembeh Straights, North Sulawesi - 20th November to 7th December 2024
We're heading back to our favourite Indonesian macro destination, NAD Lembeh Resort, for another Lembeh Photo Tour. The Straights never fails to deliver the goods, and on previous trips at this time of the year the cephalopods were out in force, with sightings of the sought after Hairy Octopus, Blue Rings brooding eggs and all the usual suspects - Mimic, Wonderpus, Algae, Coconut, Mototi and Flamboyants! Plus Blackwater dives where we've seen Blankets, Nautilus, Ribbonfish, larval Wonderpus and more.
